Kanlaon Volcano Sends 1,200-Meter Ash Plume Into Sky

Canlaon City, Philippines – Time-lapse footage captured ash emission from Kanlaon Volcano between 6:24 AM and 6:29 AM on April 9, 2026.

The event produced a grayish plume that rose approximately 1,200 meters above the summit crater, as recorded visually by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City (KVO-CC).

Since midnight, authorities have documented four separate episodes of ash emission. Alert Level 2 remains in effect, signaling increased volcanic activity.

Volcanic monitoring continues closely to track further eruptions and ensure public safety in surrounding communities.
