Kanlaon, Philippines – Kanlaon Volcano erupted on March 15, 2026, sending a towering column of ash and gas two kilometers into the sky. The eruption plume drifted southwest from the summit, visible from nearby areas.
This marks the third eruption at Kanlaon this year, following previous events on February 19 and February 26, 2026.
Authorities maintain Alert Level 2 and continue to prohibit entry into the four-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) around the volcano. Residents and visitors are warned to stay clear of the area as volcanic activity continues.
