San Carlos, United States – A San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was captured on camera after a traffic cone became stuck on its head during an unexpected training moment.
The video shows K-9 Adonis struggling with a traffic cone after it flipped and landed over his head, creating a brief and unusual scene during activity involving deputies.
The sheriff’s office shared the footage online, joking about the moment by saying it was like a rough start to the week when a K-9 ends up stuck inside a cone.
Officials confirmed that Adonis was not injured and described him as being fine, aside from a bit of embarrassment. They also humorously noted that the damaged traffic cone would be “on Adonis’ tab.”
Additional information and images released by the department introduced Adonis as a dual-purpose police dog trained in both narcotics detection and patrol duties.
Adonis is a 4-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd who works alongside his handler, Deputy Brandt, and is assigned to the City of San Carlos.
He has been serving with the sheriff’s office for three and a half years and is one of 17 dogs in the unit.
Officials added that while the incident brought attention online, Adonis continues to carry out his duties when not involved in what they described as playful moments.
