Vancouver, Washington – Over the weekend, a member of the Incident Response Team, Jake, worked with the Washington State Patrol (WSP) to save a mother duck and her ducklings. The rescue took place on a busy roadway in Southwest Washington.
The team acted quickly to ensure the safety of the ducks. They carefully moved the feathered family away from traffic, preventing any harm to them or drivers.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) praised the effort. They called it “egg-cellent teamwork” in a statement released after the rescue.
Jake and the WSP received a shout-out from WSDOT. The agency thanked their crews for keeping everyone safe, including the ducks.
The rescue highlights the dedication of these teams. They not only manage incidents but also protect wildlife when needed.
