DeLand, Florida, United States – The Volusia Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of 11-year-old Anthony Steward for making written threats to kill, marking his second offense of this kind.

Steward is already in a diversion program for a previous arrest in October at Southwestern Middle School, when he sent a group message from another student’s account saying, “IM GONNA SHOOT YOU.”

In the latest incident, Steward again used another student’s account to send the message “imma shoot you” to seven teachers at DeLand Middle School.

Authorities stressed the seriousness of the threats in a district with 63,000 students and 4,400 teachers, noting that such actions disrupt schools, consume resources, and raise the risk of real threats being overlooked.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office also warned parents, stating, “If you can threaten to shoot 7 teachers you can take a perp walk.”
