Hungary Election Night Erupts In Budapest As Tisza Party Secures Landslide Win

Budapest, Hungary – Video filmed by X user Michael De La Broc shows scenes from April 12, 2026, during the Hungarian parliamentary elections and the following evening in Budapest.

The clips show voters arriving at polling stations and casting their ballots throughout the day.

As results began to come in, the atmosphere across the city grew increasingly energetic.

Large crowds gathered at the Tisza Party election night rally led by Péter Magyar, where supporters were seen cheering, waving flags, and celebrating.

Péter Magyar’s centre-right Tisza Party achieved a landslide victory, securing a two-thirds supermajority in parliament with around 138 seats out of 199.

The outcome brought an end to Viktor Orbán’s 16-year rule with his Fidesz party. Voter turnout was very high, reaching nearly 80 percent. Orbán conceded defeat the same night, marking a major political shift in Hungary.
