Madrid, Spain – Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Madrid to welcome Pope Leo XIV during his visit to Spain, where he attended a massive open-air Mass and took part in a public procession through the city.
Video showed the Pope walking near Plaza de Cibeles in full papal vestments. He was accompanied by clergy in white and purple robes as well as government officials while moving through the area at a measured pace.
Thousands of citizens assembled at Plaza de Cibeles to greet the pontiff as he arrived for the large religious event. The visit was supported by a significant security presence from Policía Nacional.
Additional footage recorded from the Policía Nacional’s “Cóndor” aircraft captured the scale of the gathering from above. The aerial views showed vast crowds lining Madrid’s streets as Pope Leo XIV traveled in the white popemobile, greeting supporters along the route.
Motorcycle and foot patrol units escorted the procession while security teams monitored the event from the air and on the ground. The footage also showed the extensive preparations for the Mass, including staging areas and densely packed crowds across the city.
The videos documented both the ceremonial aspects of the visit and the large-scale security operation supporting it, highlighting the enormous turnout for Pope Leo XIV’s appearance in the Spanish capital.
