House And Vehicle Nearly Buried In Wrightwood Mudflows

Wrightwood, California – San Bernardino County Fire reported extensive flooding with mud and debris flows in Wrightwood following the December storms on December 25, 2025. The department is operating in unified command with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

With a break in the weather on the morning of December 25, crews were strategically positioned in neighborhoods severely affected by the storm to assist with recovery efforts. Officials said an evening update will provide more information.

Video footage captures the scale of destruction in a residential area. Thick, grayish-brown mud several feet deep blankets streets, driveways, and properties, with large rocks, broken tree branches, and debris scattered throughout.

Several homes are partially buried or surrounded by mudflows. One elevated house has mud piled high against its foundation and supports. A vehicle covered in a green tarp is almost completely engulfed, with only its top visible.

Tall pine trees line the area, some leaning or damaged, under an overcast sky. The footage emphasizes the mountainous, forested setting and the overwhelming impact of the storms on the Wrightwood community.
