Vandenberg Space Force Base, United States – Demolition work has begun at Space Launch Complex 6 as part of a modernization effort designed to prepare the site for future launch operations.

The work follows the U.S. Space Force’s 2025 outgrant of the facility to SpaceX, marking a new phase in the site’s long operational history and continued transformation.

Over the past 60 years, the launch complex has been repeatedly repurposed to support different generations of spaceflight, adapting to changing mission requirements.

The current redevelopment effort aims to convert the historic site into a more flexible infrastructure system capable of supporting next-generation launch capabilities as national security needs evolve.
