Benasque, Spain – A hiker was rescued in the mountainous area near the Renclusa Refuge in Benasque. The operation was carried out by the Civil Guard’s GREIM team, specialized in mountain rescues.
The hiker suffered a left knee injury, requiring immediate attention. The GREIM team reached the location in the rugged terrain and provided initial care to stabilize the individual.
Due to the injury, the hiker was unable to walk. The rescue team carefully placed them on a stretcher for evacuation. They carried the hiker on foot through the challenging mountain paths.
The evacuation route led to Llanos del Hospital, a nearby accessible area. From there, the hiker was transported to the Benasque health center for further medical treatment.
The Civil Guard reported that the operation was successful. The hiker is now receiving care, and no additional complications were noted during the rescue.
