Lincoln City, Oregon – On March 14, 2026, a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Facility Newport rescued a hiker trapped on a cliff side at God’s Thumb.

The operation was conducted in close coordination with North Lincoln Fire and Rescue, highlighting the strong partnership between the agencies.

The hiker was safely removed from the cliff, with no further injuries reported. The swift response ensured the individual was brought to safety without incident.
