Hiker Rescued By Coast Guard Helicopter From Remote California Trail

Humboldt County, United States – A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Humboldt Bay MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew medically evacuated an injured hiker from the Lost Coast Trail near Cape Mendocino on May 26, 2026.

The incident took place in a remote section of the trail in Humboldt County, California, where the hiker required urgent assistance.

Following a request from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Sector Humboldt Bay deployed an aircrew from Air Station Humboldt Bay.

The helicopter team hoisted the injured hiker from the isolated area and transported her, along with her husband, to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, California, for further medical care.
