Rome, Italy – Shortly before 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, a Rome Fire Brigade helicopter was deployed 12 nautical miles off the coast of Torvaianica to rescue two injured men aboard a tender after their boat sank.

The crew of Drago VF162 recovered both men using a delicate winch operation from the tender.

After the rescue, the two injured men were flown to the port of Anzio, where they were handed over to medical personnel before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
