Boltaña, Huesca, Spain – Video filmed by X user Guardia Civil shows a successful helicopter rescue of two bathers who were dragged by a strong current in the Río Ara on May 31, 2026.

The operation involved the GREIM mountain rescue unit from Boltaña and the Huesca air unit, which were deployed after an emergency call to 112 SOS Aragón.

The footage shows rescuers locating a 48-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from Zaragoza who were unable to swim and had been swept downstream by the river.

Both individuals were found on the riverbank or in shallow water as the helicopter hovered above the scene.

Rescue teams were lowered or landed to reach the pair and secure them safely.

The two bathers were then winched aboard and evacuated by air back to Boltaña, where their vehicle had been parked.

The operation was carried out quickly and in coordination following the emergency alert.

Both individuals were reported to be safe after the rescue.
