Helicopter Crew Pulls Family And Dogs From Rising Floodwaters In Texas Rescue

Uvalde County, Texas – Dramatic helicopter footage shows a Texas Department of Public Safety aircrew rescuing a young girl, her family members, and their two dogs from rising floodwaters.

The video captures rescuers in bright yellow-green gloves and orange gear working from a hovering helicopter as family members are secured into harnesses and lifted one by one.

Two dogs, including one white dog and one smaller fluffy dog, are carefully handled and brought aboard during the rescue.

The footage shows a rainy, overcast sky, wooden fencing, a flooded yard with a blue pool below, and the steady winch operation as the family is pulled to safety.

The rescue took place in Uvalde County on July 15, 2026, as heavy rains caused widespread flooding across South and Central Texas.

Up to 28 inches of rain fell in parts of Uvalde County, turning streets into rivers, isolating communities, and forcing high-water rescues.

Emergency crews, including Texas Game Wardens, local responders, and DPS aircraft, have pulled more than 70 people to safety.

Officials continue urging residents to stay away from flooded roads and follow guidance from local officials as recovery efforts continue.
