Castropodame, León, Castilla y León, Spain – Heavy machinery moved directly into intense flames and thick smoke during overnight operations against the Castropodame wildfire.

Footage from inside a heavy machine cabin shows operators advancing through burning vegetation while orange flames illuminate the smoke-filled area. The machinery was used to create control lines and help secure the fire perimeter.

The direct attack operations were carried out on the Castropodame wildfire, known as IFCastropodame. Ground and aerial efforts helped improve containment of the fire, though the situation remained under high alert.

The wildfire had prompted evacuations of nearby villages as crews continued working to control the blaze.
