Gas Pipeline Fire in Subang Jaya Affects Hundreds

Subang Jaya, Malaysia – On April 1, X user @Mhoamj1 shared a video showing a gas pipe fire in Subang Jaya. The user posted: “Massive fire in kl 1 April 2025, 8 am.”

The blaze has impacted many. Subang Jaya police reported today that 529 victims are now affected by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights. They have been moved to two temporary evacuation centers.

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said 485 victims from 110 families are at Dewan Masjid Putra Heights. Another 44 victims from eight families are at Dewan Camelia, the Subang Jaya City Council’s multi-purpose hall.

Local news outlet Sinar Harian quoted Wan Azlan saying 111 victims are getting medical care at nearby hospitals. Some evacuees showed symptoms like shortness of breath at the centers before being sent for treatment.

Wan Azlan added that 80 of these victims are in government hospitals. The remaining 31 are being treated in private hospitals. He noted the numbers could shift as more cases are monitored.
