Gainesville, United States – Fire crews are responding to two brush fires burning in separate parts of the city, with efforts continuing to contain both incidents.
One fire in the North Main Street and NW 53rd Avenue area is now mostly contained. Firefighters remain on site to secure the area and prevent any further spread.
A second fire remains active in the Eryn’s Gardens and Hidden Lake area near US-441/121, where crews are still working toward full containment.
Multiple agencies are involved in the response, including fire rescue teams, forestry services, and police. A command post has been established at Station 33 to coordinate operations.
Officials say the setup is also being used to assist residents who may be affected by the fires.
The American Red Cross has been contacted to support anyone who may be displaced.
Authorities warn that smoke may continue to affect the area, and drivers are urged to be cautious near active scenes due to reduced visibility.
Residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning because of ongoing dry conditions.
Emergency crews remain active at both locations, and officials are urging the public to stay away from the fire zones.
