Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, USA – U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service personnel have carried out a large fish stocking operation, releasing thousands of trout into waters at Fort McCoy as part of activities for 2026.
On April 22, 2026, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees stocked rainbow trout into Suukjak Sep Lake on North Post at Fort McCoy. The operation was conducted by the USFWS Genoa National Fish Hatchery based in Genoa, Wisconsin.
Around 15,000 rainbow trout were released into several lakes and ponds across the Fort McCoy area during the effort. The fish are widely used to support recreational fishing in the region.
Rainbow trout are described as popular game fish for anglers and are stocked in multiple waterways across Fort McCoy to support fishing activity.
