Palm City, Florida – The Martin County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of SW Alligator Street on August 10, 2026, rescuing approximately 36 Border Collies from severe hoarding conditions.

Video shows deputies in black sheriff shirts, tactical vests and white protective pants approaching the fenced property. Inside, thick black feces covered the tiled floors, alongside overturned furniture, debris, a statue and a Christmas tree.

Multiple Border Collie-type dogs were found walking or standing in the filth, heavily matted and coated in dried feces. One dog was shown lying on concrete completely covered in large fecal mats.

The footage also shows a handcuffed woman standing in the open garage as deputies worked nearby. The dogs were led from the property on leashes, with close-ups showing their extreme matting, soiling and condition.

The August 10 case was the second major animal-hoarding case in Martin County within three weeks. The homeowner was taken into custody.
