Almeria, Spain – Military Emergency Unit personnel from BIEM2 carried out overnight operations against the Los Gallardos wildfire.
During the nighttime missions, crews conducted direct attacks on the flame front, monitored hotspots, and secured the perimeter of the fire.
Nighttime footage shows UME firefighters in red gear battling intense flames along a hillside.
Teams deployed hoses from fire trucks, advanced up dry slopes under an orange glow and heavy smoke, and sprayed water on burning brush and trees near a road.
Emergency lights flashed as crews coordinated perimeter control and continued direct attacks on the fire front.
The Los Gallardos wildfire erupted on July 9 near Sierra de los Filabres. The blaze has killed at least 12 people, injured others, and burned thousands of hectares amid extreme heat and winds.
More than 500 firefighters and aircraft remain involved as containment efforts continue.
