McKinney, Texas, United States – A fatal stabbing at a Frisco high school track meet has led to the release of extensive graphic evidence by a Texas judge.

Collin County District Judge John Roach Jr. released more than six gigabytes of material tied to the killing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, including surveillance footage, 911 calls, and images from the scene.

The case involves Karmelo Anthony, 19, who was convicted of murder in connection with the stabbing during a rainy track meet on April 2, 2025.

Anthony has said he acted in self-defense after the incident at a Memorial High School tent. The confrontation occurred during the event when he was asked to leave.

Surveillance footage shows Anthony in a gray hoodie leaving the tent area before running down bleachers, stumbling on the steps, and moving across the grandstand toward a parking area while others follow and point at him.

Body-camera footage shows an officer detaining Anthony and calling him “the alleged suspect.” Anthony responds, “I know how it goes. I’m not alleged, I did it,” and later cries, saying, “he put his hands on me, I told him not to put my hands on me.”

Evidence includes images of a gray-handled utility knife with a 3.5-inch blade and a close-up photo of Metcalf’s chest wound.

Witness testimony stated Anthony insulted and provoked students after being told to leave the tent, including calling them “a bunch of pussies” and saying they were “not going to do nothing about it.”

A defense witness later corrected earlier claims, stating Anthony was not surrounded before the stabbing but afterward.
