Eruption Sends 200-Meter Plume From Taal Volcano Main Crater

Taal Volcano, Philippines – A minor phreatomagmatic eruption was recorded at the Taal Main Crater at 1:45 p.m. on April 10, 2026.

Time-lapse footage captured the event, showing a short eruption plume rising from the crater. The plume reached an estimated height of 200 meters.

The observation was recorded by the Main Crater (VTMC) and Daang Kastila (VTDK) observation stations, located on the western and northern rims of the volcano’s main crater.

Authorities confirmed that Alert Level 1 remains in effect over Taal Volcano following the event.
