Drunk Driver Climbs Into Back Seat After Crash In Apparent Attempt To Avoid Police

Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA – Body camera footage captured the moment police found a driver in the back seat after a crash, with investigators saying he appeared to move away from the driver’s seat.

According to police, Frisly Perez-Aguilar allegedly struck another vehicle and attempted to drive away after the collision.

When an officer approached the vehicle, investigators said Perez-Aguilar climbed into the back seat, an apparent attempt to distance himself from the driver’s seat after the crash.

The footage shows Perez-Aguilar repeatedly saying, “I’m drunk. I’m drunk. It’s okay.”

Police said the man is facing DUI-related charges following the incident.

As Fourth of July celebrations continued, law enforcement reminded people to make safe plans before drinking, including choosing a sober driver, calling a friend, or using a rideshare service.
