Andros, Bahamas – A deployed U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew assisted a Royal Bahamian Defense Force boat crew in stopping a suspected drug smuggling vessel off the coast of Andros on May 3, 2026.

The coordinated operation involved both air and sea support as authorities intercepted the suspected boat during maritime activity in the area.

Bahamian authorities reported that three suspected smugglers were stopped during the operation.

They also reported the seizure of nearly 2,570 pounds of marijuana linked to the vessel.
