Gainesville, Florida – The Town of LaCrosse Fire Department is assisting Alachua County Fire Rescue with a large fire near State Road 121 close to Eryn Gardens in Gainesville.
Residents have been evacuated from the affected area. State Road 121 has been shut down, and the public has been urged to avoid the area entirely.
The fire triggered rapid response from multiple agencies as crews worked to contain the blaze spreading through the Eryn’s Gardens and Hidden Lake area near US-441 and State Road 121.
Alachua County declared a local state of emergency due to ongoing wildfires and severe drought conditions affecting the region.
Fire response teams, including Gainesville Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service, are actively engaged in containment efforts as smoke continues to fill the air.
Road closures have impacted travel near the 8300 block of State Road 121. Evacuation orders were issued for the Eryn’s Garden subdivision as the fire threatened nearby homes and structures.
