Washington, USA – A suspect driving a stolen Honda Civic was arrested after a police pursuit involving multiple agencies, following an auto theft reported earlier in the shift.
Officers were initially dispatched to a vehicle theft in progress on the west side, where an unknown suspect stole the car and fled the area. Deputies and officers began searching for the vehicle shortly after.
A Tenino Police officer later located the stolen car, but the driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit heading north toward Tumwater. Attempts to stop the vehicle using a grappler were unsuccessful, though spike strips were deployed. The suspect briefly pulled over before fleeing again.
A deputy from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office carried out a successful PIT maneuver. Deputies then forcefully removed the suspect from the vehicle to prevent him from escaping into the more populated Tumwater area.
Authorities confirmed the suspect had an active escape warrant for assault and a criminal history that includes 19 felony convictions, along with 10 additional misdemeanor convictions.
He now faces charges including auto theft, attempting to elude, DUI, and driving on a suspended license.
