Determined Beaver Ignores Police And Traffic On Redmond Streets

Redmond, United States – On the night of February 25, 2026, around 10:15 p.m., Redmond Police responded to a report of a suspicious subject near the intersection of Avondale Rd. NE and NE 95th St. described as a “determined beaver” attempting to cross the road without regard for public safety.

Despite clear verbal commands, the beaver refused to comply, ignoring crosswalks, traffic signals, and basic roadway safety. Officers made several patient attempts to manage the situation, using skillful negotiation to finally coax the animal across the street and into a nearby wooded area.

During the encounter, the beaver briefly resisted by slapping one officer’s hand with its tail. No injuries were reported, and the animal was not arrested or cited. Authorities noted the beaver lacks identification or a driver’s license.

Residents are urged to exercise caution in the area, especially at night, as this determined individual has shown a clear pattern of disregarding traffic rules.
