Dallas, Texas – A Dallas police officer fired four rounds toward an undercover officer during the pursuit of a stolen Porsche on August 6, 2026, after a robbery involving a 9-year-old girl.
Police said 39-year-old Renard McFadden arrived at a business in a stolen Ford F-150, approached a white Porsche Cayenne and threatened the child while indicating he was armed. The girl ran inside to alert her mother before McFadden allegedly stole the Porsche and fled.
The abandoned Ford was later confirmed stolen. The Porsche was tracked using its vehicle location system, allowing patrol divisions, covert units and Air One to locate it.
At about 10:10 a.m., officers found the Porsche on Williamstown Road. Uniformed officers began a felony traffic stop while a covert officer positioned an unmarked vehicle in front of the Porsche to prevent it from leaving.
The covert officer exited with his department-issued handgun drawn and moved toward a nearby residential yard. Officer Celso Rocha then fired four rounds toward the undercover officer and McFadden.
Rocha recognized that the person was another police officer and stopped firing. He can be heard shouting, “Blue, Blue.”
McFadden then exited the stolen Porsche and surrendered. No officers, the suspect or members of the public were injured.
Investigators recovered a loaded handgun from the Porsche. Additional evidence is being examined as part of several ongoing violent crime investigations.
McFadden is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Robbery and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Detectives are also pursuing additional charges related to other violent offenses under investigation.
