Cruise Ship Diverts 120 Miles To Rescue Injured Mariner Far Off Oregon Coast

Oregon Coast, United States – The crew of the cruise ship Silver Whisper rescued an injured 74-year-old Canadian citizen 489 miles off the coast of Oregon on May 26, 2026.

The rescue was coordinated by the U.S. Coast Guard.

To reach the distressed mariner, Silver Whisper altered its course and diverted 120 miles.

The injured mariner was successfully rescued by the ship’s crew during the operation.
