Los Angeles, United States – A 17-year-old male juvenile was injured during a Law Enforcement Related Injury incident that occurred at a planned protest in the Central Division.
The incident took place on March 28, 2026, at around 8:40 p.m., when officers from multiple Los Angeles Police Department divisions were deployed to the Central Area protest.
During the event, Southeast officers were instructed to detain the juvenile in connection with an alleged assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
Authorities state the juvenile physically resisted officers during the detention, resulting in a Non-Categorical Use of Force.
The juvenile was later transported by LAPD personnel to a local hospital, where he was admitted for treatment due to injuries sustained during the incident.
The Force Investigation Division has assumed responsibility for reviewing the circumstances surrounding the use of force.
Officials confirmed that no other members of the public were injured.
