Pierce County, Washington, US – On February 10 at approximately 2:00 p.m. during middle school dismissal, surveillance video captured a driver disregarding a crossing guard’s command to wait as students crossed.
The footage shows the vehicle proceeding through the crosswalk while the guard stood in place and a student was attempting to cross.
On February 11, deputies reviewed the video and established probable cause to charge the 34-year-old male with reckless driving and driving while license suspended.
Deputies located the vehicle parked in the bus loop and attempted to make contact to carry out the arrest. After several minutes of refusing to exit, a deputy broke the vehicle’s window and removed the driver.
The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail on charges of reckless driving, two counts of driving while license suspended, and resisting arrest.
