Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA – Firefighters responded to an unusual late-night wildlife call involving a black bear that had become stuck in a tree after appearing unusually inactive.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department reported that Truck 8 and Battalion 2 were dispatched after receiving assistance requests from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The department stated that the bear was described as “zonked out in a tree and stuck” while located on Crooked Arrow Lane.

Responders removed the animal from the tree and placed it into a Colorado Parks and Wildlife vehicle for safe relocation.

Officials later reported that the bear was healthy, though described as “a little sleepy” at the time of release and departure.
