Umnak Island, Alaska – On April 2, 2026, a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter rescued 5 fishermen from the grounded fishing vessel Ocean Bay near Umnak Island in the Aleutian Islands.

The aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak used an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to hoist a fisherman from the vessel.

All 5 fishermen were safely transferred to emergency medical services in Dutch Harbor. Authorities reported no injuries.
