Penobscot Bay, ME – The U.S. Coast Guard cutters Bridle and Tackle have been actively breaking ice in Penobscot Bay as part of Operation Reliable Energy for Northeast Winters.

The operation is designed to ensure that local communities maintain access to critical supplies, energy, and medical resources during the harsh winter months. Icebreaking efforts allow heating fuel, food, and essential goods to reach residents safely.
