Coast Guard Aircrew Rushes To Lake Huron Vessel In Midnight Medical Emergency

Lake Huron, Michigan – The Coast Guard conducted a medical evacuation of a 33-year-old man experiencing medical issues aboard a motor vessel on Lake Huron near Harrisville at 12:45 a.m. Monday.

Coast Guard Sector Detroit watchstanders were notified at 10:21 p.m. Sunday that a crew member aboard the Walter J. McCarthy Jr. required immediate medical attention.

A Coast Guard aircrew carried out the medevac operation on Lake Huron and transported the 33-year-old man from the vessel.

The medical emergency occurred aboard the Walter J. McCarthy Jr. near Harrisville, Michigan, prompting the overnight response.
