Solano, United States – A California Highway Patrol officer in Solano witnessed a Corvette driver traveling at extreme speed on a major interstate, reaching 148 mph on westbound I-80 in Fairfield.

The driver’s speed was recorded during the incident, which drew immediate enforcement action from CHP officers.

As a result, the driver is now facing two points on their driving record, significant court fines, and a likely suspension of their driver’s license through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Insurance costs are also expected to rise due to the violations.

Authorities stressed the danger of such driving behavior. “Speeds like this put everyone at risk. We’re thankful this stop happened before someone was seriously hurt or worse,” CHP stated.

Officials urged drivers to reduce speed and prioritize safety on public roads, emphasizing that high-speed driving should be reserved for controlled environments.
