Lecco, Italy – Video filmed by Vigili del Fuoco shows firefighting operations underway against a forest fire in Valmadrera, in the province of Lecco.

Firefighters have been working since the previous day to contain the blaze. From the morning of August 5, a Canadair from the national aerial fleet was also deployed to support the firefighting operations.

Footage filmed from a red boat on the lake shows smoke rising above forested mountains. A yellow-and-red Canadair water bomber skims the lake surface to collect water, creating a large spray before climbing away along the shoreline with rocky cliffs and smoke visible in the background.

The fire is located on the slopes of Monte Moregallo near Valmadrera. The Canadair is shown collecting water from the lake to assist ground crews in containing the blaze.
