Brilliant Blue Fireball Streaks Across Texas Night Sky Stunning Residents

Shallowater, United States – X user Whitney Straw Turney captured a striking moment as her Ring security camera, aimed west from a suburban neighborhood, recorded a bright white-blue fireball meteor suddenly appearing high in the dark, cloudy night sky.

The glowing object raced quickly from east-southeast to west-northwest, leaving a faint luminous trail as it passed above rooftops, parked vehicles including a white pickup truck and a black SUV, streetlights, and a distant water tower before fading from view.

The stationary outdoor recording, timestamped at 8:57 PM CDT on March 18, 2026, documented the entire visible phase under clear conditions, with no sound and no signs of fragmentation during the brief event.

The sighting was also reported by multiple residents across the Lubbock and South Plains region, with some describing a vivid bright blue meteor moving across the sky.

The moment was described as “Meteor at 8:57PM tonight Shallowater TX looking west”.
