Port St. Lucie, Florida – A bride and her guest were pulled over while speeding at 105 miles per hour on Crosstown Parkway, trying to make it to her wedding.
The reason for the rush? She was already late to the ceremony.
The wedding was scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. in Stuart, but the pair were still in Port St. Lucie when they were stopped by an unmarked police unit.
It was a sunny day, and while tradition says rain on a wedding day is good luck, this bride may now be facing a different kind of omen—a mandatory court date for the driver.
Officials noted that speeding at such high rates is dangerous, regardless of the occasion.
The incident added a literal twist to the phrase “racing to the altar,” though it’s not exactly the best way to start a marriage.
