Altavilla Milicia, Italy – A bolt of lightning drops toward the Tyrrhenian Sea as a dark thunderstorm hangs over the water off the coast of Sicily.

Video filmed by X user Joseph Frascati shows heavy rain falling from towering clouds while a pale band of dawn light remains visible along the horizon.

Later footage shows the same storm glowing gold as the sun rises over a calm sea. Its reflection stretches toward the rocky shoreline while a dark rain shaft pours into the water beside the sunrise.

Frascati posted the clips on September 15, 2026, describing them as “Sunrise with lighting” and “Sunrise with T-storm over the sea.”

Forecasts for September 15 reported morning instability along with scattered showers and thunderstorms across Sicily. A local climate model also listed moderate rain for Altavilla Milicia that day.
