Melbourne, Florida – A rescue operation was carried out off the coast of Melbourne, Florida, on May 12, 2026, after a civilian aircraft went down in the water, resulting in multiple survivors needing assistance.
The mission involved a U.S. Air Force HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, an HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter, and pararescuemen from Patrick Space Force Base in Florida.
Rescue crews responded to the scene and recovered survivors from the water after the downed aircraft incident.
The individuals were brought out of the ocean and transferred to emergency medical personnel who were waiting on standby.
Officials confirmed that 11 survivors were rescued during the operation.
