77 Arrests In Las Vegas Street Takeover Crackdown After High Speed Crash And Pursuit

Las Vegas, USA – Official aerial helicopter footage filmed by X user LVMPD captures a street takeover attempt at the intersection of Tropical Parkway and Celebration Way around 12:30 a.m. on April 26, 2026.

The infrared night-vision video shows a silver sedan with a black hood and spoiler spinning donuts in the middle of the intersection, sending thick white tire smoke across the roadway. A crowd gathers nearby on foot and in vehicles, many holding phones to record, while police radio chatter is heard as the air unit monitors from above.

The vehicle suddenly speeds away, heading north through a parking lot and onto nearby streets. The helicopter follows as the car loses control, crashes, and loses its tires before coming to a stop.

Two occupants jump out and run along the roadside and median, but officers on the ground quickly move in, give commands, and take both into custody without further incident.

Authorities stated the takeover was linked to crowds leaving events at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and formed part of a three-day zero-tolerance operation from April 25 to 27, 2026.

During the operation, officers made 77 arrests, including 66 adults and 11 juveniles, and towed or impounded 59 vehicles. More than 10 takeover locations were disrupted, 19 out-of-state participants were identified, and four firearms were recovered.

Police said these illegal activities pose serious risks to drivers, spectators, and the wider community and will not be tolerated.
