200-Meter Ash Plume Rises Over Kanlaon Volcano Summit Crater In Ongoing Activity

Canlaon City, Philippines – Sped up camera footage captured ash emission from the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano at 4:01 PM on 22 May 2026.

The observation recorded grayish plumes rising about 200 meters above the crater before drifting toward the southwest.

The event was monitored using an IP camera at the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory in Canlaon City.

Authorities confirmed that Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano.

The recorded footage shows the ash activity occurring at the summit crater during the ongoing volcanic alert status.
