15-Year-Old On Scooter Crashes Into Police Vehicle After Running Stop Sign

Bunnell, Florida – A 15-year-old riding an electric scooter collided with a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle after running a stop sign at an intersection.

The crash happened as a deputy was driving through an intersection in Bunnell when the teenager entered the roadway on the scooter and struck the patrol cruiser.

Authorities said the deputy was traveling at about 19 miles per hour and had the right of way at the time of the incident.

The sheriff’s office shared a reminder about e-bike safety following the crash, describing it as a “powerful” example of roadway awareness.

Officials confirmed that the teenager was not seriously injured in the incident.

The event was highlighted as a reminder of the importance of obeying stop signs and following traffic rules when operating electric scooters on public roads.
