Imus City, Cavite – The Philippine Coast Guard conducted an immediate evacuation of approximately 102 residents affected by severe flooding in Imus City, Cavite, on August 8, 2026.

The operation was carried out by Coast Guard Station Cavite and Coast Guard Outpost Imus in coordination with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Imus City. The evacuated residents were taken to a designated evacuation center for their safety.

The PCG continued monitoring the area to respond quickly to residents needing assistance as rainfall continued.

On August 9, 2026, the PCG, together with Coast Guard Outpost Imus, the Coast Guard District National Capital Region – Central Luzon Deployable Response Group Team and Special Operations Force, evacuated 24 people from Barangay Medicion II-F and Barangay Pag-Asa III.

The evacuation was carried out because the barangays remained affected by flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat. Residents were successfully moved to safe locations.

The operations formed part of the PCG’s iCARE program, or Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement, and followed the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure immediate access to aid and services during disasters.
