Middle East – The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) conducted flight operations on March 2, 2026, in support of Operation Epic Fury in the Middle East.
Aircraft launched and recovered from the carrier’s flight deck as part of the ongoing mission. The operations were carried out while the warship was deployed in the region during the campaign.
Operation Epic Fury is a major military operation targeting Iranian military infrastructure. The campaign has involved air and naval forces carrying out strikes against missile launchers, command facilities, naval assets, and air defense systems across Iran.
U.S. and allied forces have used fighter aircraft, stealth bombers, drones, and naval platforms to carry out the attacks. Warships and aircraft carriers operating in the region have been launching aircraft and long range missiles as part of the operation.
