USS Abraham Lincoln Launches Jets Over Middle East In Major Operation Epic Fury

Sailors aboard the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) launched F/A‑18E Super Hornet jets from the ship’s flight deck as part of Operation Epic Fury on March 29, 2026, the Pentagon said in a video release.

The carrier, a Nimitz‑class warship, is taking part in the large‑scale U.S. military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury, with aircraft conducting flight operations in support of ongoing combat missions in the U.S. Central Command area.

Operation Epic Fury began in late February 2026 and involves U.S. forces, including naval aviation from multiple aircraft carriers, conducting strikes and other missions to degrade Iranian offensive capabilities, according to official fact sheets.

The USS Abraham Lincoln’s involvement underscores the role of carrier‑based airpower in sustaining sortie generation and operational reach across the theater.
