Morris Bridge Park, Florida – Two men and their dogs were rescued from a swamp after their boat sank in Morris Bridge Park on the evening of July 24, 2025.
At 8:25 p.m., the Marine Enforcement Section of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office launched a dive boat in response to the emergency. However, the river path was blocked by a tree, forcing deputies to proceed on foot.
With assistance from the Aviation Section, the deputies located the two men and their dogs in the swamp. The team remained with them until Florida Fish and Wildlife officials arrived with a boat to safely evacuate everyone.
This successful rescue highlights the teamwork between agencies committed to ensuring safety on the water.
