Twelve Crew Rescued From Stricken Fishing Vessel In West Philippine Sea

Subic, Zambales – The Philippine Coast Guard vessel BRP Cape San Agustin (MRRV-4408) conducted a search and rescue operation for a distressed fishing vessel in the waters off Sabanagan Point on December 11, 2025.

The fishing vessel FB Goldan (Bagito), carrying 12 crew members including the captain, encountered engine trouble while at sea.

BRP Cape San Agustin immediately proceeded to the area and began towing operations to bring the fishing banca safely to Subic, Zambales.

This mission aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for the Philippine Coast Guard to prioritize the safety of lives at sea.

The Philippine Coast Guard emphasized its commitment to protecting Filipino fishermen navigating the West Philippine Sea and highlighted the dedication and efficiency of its personnel in handling maritime emergencies.
